The Gods

The gods were once part of a much larger pantheon. They think. But when their reality collapsed, they were all that remained. However, they have long since forgotten their names and their original forms. But they make good with what they can.
| • • • Order Order is the least seen god, having dominion over the night and death. He is aloof and holds a certain distrust of the people that have been brought to this town. He finds human behavior too chaotic and unpredictable for his tastes. Should he ever appear in physical form, he towers over most people, at an impressive eight feet tall. But that includes the horns sprouting from his three-eyed skull of a head. A skull that looks to be made from the night sky itself. His impossibly slender, and very likely skeletal body is clad in fabric similar to his head, shifting and shimmering with starlight. However, he typically only appears in partial form: the skull alone. | • • • Balance Balance is not frequently seen, but she likes to observe all that happens. She has a curious nature but prefers a hands-off approach. Direct contact between deities and people tends to improperly tip the scales, so she only involves herself when absolutely necessary. Her physical form is that of a curvy woman, her lower half appearing to be tentacles. The upper portion of her face transforms into a sort of coral crown, forming a bowl that holds a rather large pearl. From this, water appears to flow and drip upwards. Regardless of where she is, her skin shows shifting light patterns as though under water. She rarely strays far from the water, and would never enter the forest. She often appears in the form of animals, especially that of a seal. Colors: Blue and silver Symbols: Circle crossed by a vertical line, spiral or nautilus Focuses: Dusk, early life, sea, water, balance, stability, innate magics, intuition |  |
| • • • Chaos The most involved of the gods, but not the one you might want. He stalks the forests and finds ways to involve himself in people's lives. He's not so much curious as meddling, and his motivations seem to be nothing more than amusing himself. His default form is rarely seen, clad in furs and feathers. His lower half his that of a coyote, his head covered by a cloak made to look like an impossibly large raven. He prefers forms that can get him close to people, preferring those that match his default form: raven or coyote. He is the only god who will take on a fully human form and go among people. Colors: Green and copper Symbols: Clover, bold X Focuses: Day, life, earth, nature, chaos, instability, natural/folk magic, instinct |  |
| • • • Change A god that is longer with us, but still has a great deal of influence. Once more involved than even Chaos, Change had a direct hand in helping the people of Storm Cove. But the gods had trouble sustaining that life. So to give more power and make life more stable, Change gave up his form, his power, and his life to add to the power that could make the people stable and independant. A massive monument to the fallen god stands in the middle of town. Made of bronze and iron, he appears to be a four-armed man with the legs of a hoofed beast. He has no head, instead above the opening of a cowl floats a massive, crystal sphere. No one seems to know for certain if he took any other forms, or whether or not the strange head was of the god or just for the statue.
